I thought the recent changes were to include both the planned frequency and
modulation (to digital) changes.

I was mistaken. The new frequencies seem to be providing better reception
using my BC-235 both at home and while mobile. The mobile experience is
somewhat limited however.

Signal strengths between transmissions, while stationary, seem to be more
uniform than those observed using the old system. In the immediate Arnold
area, mobile reception seemed to be better in previously known noisy spots.

Time will tell, but for the immediate future I don't need to buy a new
scanner.
