A little bit of news from the Law Enforcement side of Metro.  As some of
may know, on this past Saturday, April 26, 2003, a 19 yr old female was
shot while aboard a Metro train at the Congress Heights Metro Station. 
She received a single gunshot wound to her left butt cheek.  The joke
going around was that her boyfriend did it, and that he was just marking
his territory.  But in all seriousness, the gunman has been identified,
and he will be turning himself him tomorrow.  In the other incident from
last week in which an Officer was dragged by a suspect in a vehicle, an
apprehension is going to occur in any day.  After freeing himself from
the vehicle, the injured Officer, along with another Metro Transit Police
Officer proceeded to light up the suspect vehicle.  The entire back
window was shot out, and the suspect did receive a graze wound to the
side of his head.  The suspect did make good on his escape that night,
however he will be off the streets shortly.

That is about it from the world of Metro.  If I remember to bring the
paper home tomorrow, I will have all the information on the new Metro
