Kill Devil Hills North Carolina December 12-17

During the 1st Flight Centennial I found 5 days of very active radio =
use. Most channels carried a multiple type of communications making it =
difficult to put any definite names to the channels.

Listed are General Operations with various government and military =
agencies as best as I can describe.
The digital comms were monitored on the Uniden 250D and 785D Scanners

Frequency PL/CTCSS Comments
163.0750 103.5 NPS North Ops repeater and Simplex

170.0125 ---- EMS net
170.8000 ----- Totally Digital comms believed to be FAA

Radio support for the event was provided by the NIRSC (National Incident =
Radio Support Catche).=20
This is a Federal Agency made up in Boise Idaho at the National =
Interagency Fire Center. The NIRSC provided the radios, portable =
repeaters and support staff with radio techs to keep the radios working. =

The FAA had a temporary control tower located about mid length of the =
1st Flight runway. I suspect a portable radar was in use since aircraft =
was being assigned "squawk" numbers.=20

118.075 1st Flight AWOS (weather)
119.975 1st Flight tower (temporary)
121.750 Wright Brothers Radio and some air-air during fly-overs
122.900 Holding over Dare Bomb Ranges
233.700 "Giant Killer" off shore warning area coordination into !st =

264.400 believed to be USCG
272.750 New Bern Sector, Washington Center airspace around !st =
Flight
320.200 "Centennial Control"
381.800 USCG
387.200 Wright Brothers Radio and some air-air during fly-overs

Today (Thursday) the 1st Flight airstrip had returned to it's 122.9 =
multicom self announce

Dare County regional Airport was using 119.325 for tower control and =
122.7 for ground
This was probably a temporary assignment for the Centennial traffic =
volume only and
will return to it's 122.8 unicom shortly after all the event planes have =
departed.

NCHP was active on 42.22 ctcss 173.8 the Special Events Ch 19
NCDOT was active on 45.76 and 47.32 both with 107.2 ctcss

Can anyone identify a security police as being civilian, government or =
military wearing black uniforms with "SBI" Agent in yellow and Police =
"ALE" Agent in yellow . They were providing inside security at the =
event.
