First,

Cliff: I don't know anything acout this freq. I don't
monitor MPD.
Mike: Thanks for pstong the detailed info on SCADA
units.
Everyone else: After I sent the email, a couple of
other possibilites hit me. I'm sure it's data, but
does anyone know if Mont. Co. uses AVL to track their
police cars? I believe AVL is Automatic Vehicle
Location/Locator. It is used so the dispatcher knows
where the closest cruiser is located for an incident.
If Mont. Co. uses AVL, how does that data get back to
the dispatch center?
IIRC, the lightpoles with antennas attached to them
are a data network that is/was called Zoom Air?? The
memory is fading on this one. They offer/offered over
the air Internet access in the 902 to 928 ISM band.
Does anyone remember them? If so, are they still in
business? IIRC, the units drew 110 VAC from the pole
they were attached to.
