Joe,

As with most cable companies (but not all), they use Nextel.  This may not
apply for all systems, but for the ones in the DC/Balto. metro area, I've
only seen Nextels in use. Of course, since they're using Nextel, they're
unmonitorable.  I've worked in the cable business for about 5 years now, and
trust me, there's nothing interesting going on between the techs out in the
field and the dispatch office, unless you find "How long until you get to
Mr. Smith's house, Mike?  He's called us 5 times you're 2 hours behind!"
interesting.
