[Scan-DC] getting your PRO96 running

You can display talk group IDs as either text or numeric. If you have
programmed the alpha tags for the talk groups, they will be displayed when
there is activity on that TG. You can also press a button and toggle
between text & numeric display. Many of the talkgroups in the DC/MD/VA
profile have been pre-programmed, thus, they will display. However, since
the file used to program the units at the factory is obvioulsy several
months old by now, it will not have all of the current TG IDs as listed at
trunked radio.net. With so many digital scanners out there now, many new TG
IDs have been discovered and added to the database since RS/GRE took their
"snapshot" for the factory-installed profiles. Programming the additional
TGs is trivial if you use Win96 with the programming cable.

As for navigating directly to a specific TG, I have not found an "elegant"
way to do that. Perhaps someone else can offer some tips on that.

Randy
Loudoun County, VA
