[Scan-DC] DC Area Customs Air, 4 Aug 03

All,

In the early 1700 hour EDT heard Omaha 01 (probable UH-60 Blackhawk) in radio 
checks with Thor (Customs area controller) on 282.425. Thor was loud and 
clear at my QTH--I'm guessing he was located at BWI Airport based on signal 
strength.

Omaha 01 was also heard in checks with callsign Crab Shack (unheard & 
unlocated).

Thor had trouble hearing Omaha 01 (I heard him fine) and told him to use 
COTHEN if he needed to contact Thor because Thor's UHF was not working at the 
moment and his FM capability wouldn't be restored until tomorrow. Thor said that 
the COTHEN system was their only means of communications at the present time.
