Group:

A few Montgomery 800 mHz items...

The MCPD 450 mHz frequencies will simulcast ONLY until all police units have
had 800 mHz radios installed. The head of the County's radio shop has told
me that all of the 450 mHz equipment, including the repeaters, will be sold
"by the pound" because the system can no longer be maintained.

As far as I know, fire-rescue channels 3-10 will no longer be used by
MCFRS.,,except I believe a capability will be maintained on 154.28 for
intercounty comms.

You'll notice that a new "code" is being used for EMS dispatches. For
example: "401 Russell Av., difficulty breathing, 2-charlie-1 Medic 89
respond." The "2-charlie-1" indicates the priority and the nature of the
EMS call. I've left my list of these at work, but will send to the list in
a later e-mail.

You may hear a dispatcher asking a unit about its "EB status." That means
someone on the unit has hit the "emergency" button on his radio and the
dispatcher is checking the unit's welfare.
