AFAIK, the discontinuance began in February. They're getting scarce now.
I saw one a month ago at the BB across the street from Springfield Mall
in northern VA. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't persuade the
manager to sell it to me. He said he couldn't sell display models, as
they wouldn't work. Sell it to me anyway, I tried. No dice. The two
SC180B's I have now were, of course, display models, and they work just
fine, thank you. I like that radio a lot. It quickly became my favorite
handheld. I'd buy another at the drop of a hat. Don't waste your time
calling the stores or trying computer searches for them; more often than
not, they do not appear in inventory. No, I don't know why not. Go to the
store in person and look for them in the automotive sound department.
