[Scan-DC] Fighters over Fairfax County?

Around 22:45 a fighter heading east passed over my location near Annandale
Rd. and Arlington Blvd. (Rt. 50), just south of Falls Church.  I'm not a
good judge of altitude, but he looked pretty low, and was VERY loud - enough
that people were coming out of their houses to see what was happening.  This
was the loudest I'd ever heard an aircraft here; as one neighbor said, it
sounded like a jet was about to land on Rt. 50!  At about the same time, I
heard what sounded like another fighter heading west, but I didn't see him.

The eastbound fighter had a very bright white strobe light, and as he turned
in the distance, I think I saw the afterburners.

Could this be part of the exercises announced recently?
