That's as good a reason as any!
(Personally, I bet it's probably because it doesn't work right!)
Editorial comment: I've been listening to "Muttgummery" since about 1968,
back in the pre-repeater days when the PD had 2 channels on 155.52 and
155.64 and "Fire Board" was simulcasting on 33.78 and 154.16.
"Headquarters" was then in the basement bomb shelter of what was then the
County Office Building and I was using one of those old Lafynatya tunable
receivers... there was even a Fire Station 22 then!
Now, it's always seemed to me that every improvement that's been made over
the years has actually worked _worse_ than whatever preceded it! ("Modat",
for example.)
(Anybody else been around that long and have any comments?)
Hence, my skepticism over the shiny new 800 meg system, PS-2000 (or was that
PS-2003 or 2004!?) :)
(Said skepticism carried over to the shiny new $700.00 Uniden "XR7-D/Warp 9"
digidital radioz too...)
Simple "fisics" or electronics or whatever sez that a lower-frequency works
better than a higher one... amazing (shaking head).
Thanks for the bandwidth - over and out!
"Martin L. Best"
