Hey Bote n other's,
You will always be able to hear Montgomery on 154.160 because they will
continue to simulcast indefinately. They will need to do this in order to
activate station alerting and the voice/tone pagers the county provides.
There is no way to do this over the 800 system - so you will continue to hear
the tones we all know and love as well as the intracs over the system. It is
a hard wired system - so that it will not be something the dispatchers can
turn on and off. It will also allow those volunteers that still have the VHF
portables to contiue to transmit should they roll up on the scene of an
incident and will allow other jurisdictions that have not switched over to
talk on our channel. The fire channel 1 - 153.950 will be turned on
intermittantly when neccessary but the dispatchers will have control over
this channel.
Hope this is helpful,
Joe
