Hi,

Where I do appreciate free enterprise, hamfests, yardsales, bargaining and the like I can see where an offer of $5 as a counter offer to $125 to be a bit over top. Sure if could have been an innocent attempt to make a counter offer, but had that been the case, it would have been done directly back to the seller and not to copy the entire group. We have a good thing going on here with this list, so lets not sink to another level where we play tit for tat if we don't like or care for the posting of another. He was making an honest attempt to sell a scanner for a price that he thought was worth it and to belittle him by an offer to the group that the bidding start at $5 was an obvious attempt to not only belittle his ad but to belittle him and that's just not neccessary. 

There have been many times when I've tried to sell something on ebay that got no bids. There have been plenty of others where someone "didn't know what they had" and I got a great deal. So - we should be fair to all.
