[Scan-DC] 121.5 emer/guard channel

  The 121.5  as well as the 243 are guard or emergency channels. In the 
flight packs we carried there was a radio beacon on 243. Acft use the channel 
for emergency coms. The one heard today but not by me was talking on 121.5 
and in contact with raleigh durham which i could barely hear. The coast guard 
flight was loud and clear about 200 miles from here While in the military we 
tested equipment on the guard channels but avoided using them as com channels 
for fear of covering emergency traffic.  i imagine the acft this morning if 
it was in fact an acft made it to a safe landing
