[Scan-DC] Need Callsign Info: KFE 564

Glad you mentioned this, Andy - see other post about the new jail - I forgot 
to mention, the guard who conducted the tour said they are the first to go 
operational with the new 800 MHz system and that it ROCKS!

The warden lives in Emittsburg and they can talk to him from the jail to his 
home on it, and also they have talked to people in Ocean City who were there 
for a convention...

Having lived in Mtgy all my life and having been involved with monitoring 
since the late '60s, I've been pretty skeptical about this - every time they 
change something, it seems no better than what was before - but this new 
deal may be a breakthru.

By the way, he said that one reason they had to go to the 800 system up at 
the new jail is that the UHF radios didn't work up there.

If y'all can get up there tomorrow and take the tour, I'd highly recommend 
it... nice family outing for a Sunday!  :)  Seriously, I was astonished at:

1) the number of people who were up there today, given the lousy weather 
conditions; and

2) the number of families with children who were there!

As Walker and Scott used to say, "Don't miss it if you can", the only way 
you'll get to see it after tomorrow is... the hard way!
