VDOT licensees with a few exceptions are authorized to operate on a
group typically of 6 47 mhz. frequencies. For larger VDOT operations,
one or two of the 47 mhz. frequencies will be used for repeater
operations. The appropriate 47 mhz. repeater frequency(ies) has a 45
mhz. input. Pls for repeater operations only will be either 110.9 or
114.8. However, simplex frequency operation by the same VDOT user will
have a different pl than 110.9 or 114.8 hz. Usually not all of the 6
frequencies licensed are used. Based upon considerations that include
possible interference from other VDOT radio traffic in a given area, one
frequency of the group is selected as a primary use simplex frequency.
45.760 mhz. is simplex only and used only in VDOT construction zones for
comms.
