Ahhh but life is weird now if you look at the details and think with a paranoid
mind (much like Tennant does, it is his job).
Remember, in the grand scope of things 9/11 was the most successful attack since
Pearl Harbor on the US.
Could it happen again?
Yup, sure could.
Is it likely to?
No.
Could a biologic or dirty bomb happen?
Yup, sure could.
Is it likely to based on materials and technology available?
NOPE.
Look at it, Plague as a weapon is and has been around since the Japanese
experiments during WW2 in Korea and China it isn't a effective disease (pneumonic
plauge is entirely different just like Ebola and Marburg, get viable aerosol or
airborne variant and there goes 2/3 of the worlds population).
Smallpox? Kills 30-40%
Influenza?
Last great pandemic in 1918(?) killed more people than any known and documented
disease pair this puppy (and there are literally 1,000's of influenza variants)
with any of the above and here we all go off to never land. Anybody have the
skills and technology besides us and the Soviets? Nope.
Anthrax?
Last attack via US mail was COMPLETELY a Iraqi attack on the US, the FBI
is right now involved in a publicity stunt as a distraction from why we are
really attacking Iraq.
Bentonite? (aerolsized agent for the last attack) Iraq buys 2 metric tons each
month prior to the attack.
The strain of anthrax?
Comes from the only known strain cultured in the US, it leaked from FT. Detrick
some how into Iraq.
Al Queda does this?
No Way.
Dirty Bombs?
Yup sure could happen, gather up enough fissile material (spent core
rods cesium from X ray machines or just about any radioactive stuff) and you
could.
WOULD it be effective?
Nope, it all has to do with the amounts, halflife and
materials used.
The idea is dispersal via wind over the largest area. In order to do this you
need a BIG
dispersal(BIG EXPLOSION) and a lot of wind. Try getting all of that together.
Do any countries have all of these abilities beyond the nascent Soviets and the
US?
NOPE (watch out for those sneaky French, Japs and Germans).

Stinger missiles, mysterious pkgs - it's getting weird! I work evenings and
just came home - passed a bus stop about a block from the house... there was
a suitcase sitting there, nobody around... went down the hill to the "Goshen
substation" (7-11); sure enuf, 2 cops there, so I told them and one of them
went to look at it.
Earlier at work (computer lab at a local community college), challenged a
guy who wasn't following the lab rules - asked his name and student number,
went back into the office to check him out, found out that he had either
given me a fake name and number or isn't a student there... he was gone
before I could get Campus Security to check him out further... strange
doings!
