Gary:

Were they transmitting in digital or analog mode?  Normally, USSS is analog
using DES encryption.  I bet what you heard was analog "in the clear". I
would be surprised if that was a digital transmission.  To my knowledge, FPS
is the only agency using digital communications.  Everyone else is still
analog/DES.

I would be happy to hear that I'm mistaken.  Can anyone confirm what Gary
heard?
