[Scan-DC] Email Question

The Internet is a best-effort network, not a guaranteed-delivery network.
From the error log that you included, it looks like some machine or pipe
was down at the time that message was in transit. Maybe the data link
to qth.net was down and their machines were doing just fine.
Without knowing the routing from you to qth.net I can't say where the
problem occurred. I don't think you can automatically say it was qth.net,
but remember that qth.net is not a bottomless pit of computing power.
If its machines are bogged down, then it takes longer to get
mail through. What do you want for free? :)
(Besides, didn't the moderator of this list ask that incident updates
be curtailed some time ago? I for one don't mind being notified
of a big incident, but I really don't need the extra mail traffic
telling me that engine 28-1 is pulling 200 feet of preconnect and
that the fire is in quadrant B. That kind of stuff I can find out
by monitoring myself once the initial notification alerts me to it.
Some people pay by the byte to get their e-mail.)
