[Scan-DC] Scanner purchase opinions?

Thanks Jim, appreciate the input. And thanks also to Andy and the others
who've chipped in - the questions about the other services (city police
depts, MNCPPC, etc,) were excellent and generated issues that I hadn't even
considered... good points! Didn't know that they had already been using the
800 radios. I had heard that the fire stuff would be simulcast for some
time, but the idea that the PD didn't have to support volunteers and such
hadn't struck me, either. With all that in mind, I think the best thing to
do is hold off awhile and see how all this works out.
