Today, January 2, we launch phase one of our Nationwide Direct=20
Connect(tm) feature in the New York, Connecticut/New Jersey, New England,=20
Florida, Southern California/Southern Nevada markets.=A0 And on January 6=20
we'll add the Philadelphia and Baltimore/Washington markets. This is news=20
because now, when Nextel subscribers - customers and employees - travel=20
from one of these six enabled markets to another, they can use the=20
Direct Connect(tm) digital walkie-talkie feature to communicate with=20
subscribers in that market.=A0 And they can use Direct Connect to contact an=
y=20
other subscriber who travels with them.=A0=20
Our phase one roll out will progress over the next few months as we=20
continue to launch new markets, and we will keep you updated on that=20
progress.=A0 And once that work is complete, we will begin to launch phase=20
two, which will allow any Nextel subscriber to use Direct Connect to=20
contact any other Nextel subscriber anywhere on the Nextel network.=A0 In th=
e=20
meantime, I encourage you to spread the word about Nationwide Direct=20
Connect and the advantages this feature offers to our customers.=A0=20
