You have a very valid point, problem is, I don't normally jump so quickly
each time a new scanner generation is released. With DC being one of my
primary scanning targets, I can wait for the 9600 baud scanner generation
instead of forking out over $700. for the current generation if it is not
going to monitor DC. This way, I'll get whatever else is new with that
generation; such as, what *might* be the new 700 MHz allocations.

Why would you do that? With Fairfax, Montgomery, MWAA, Loudoun and
possibly Prince William on 3600 baud, there will be plenty
to listen to. Besides, wouldn't you rather be able to monitor
the system in conventional mode than not at all?
