Hi Rich and the list,
Those were a B-17 and B-24. They were at Lynchburg for the last couple of
days. I got plenty of photos...

Subject: [Scan-DC] B-24 and B-29
The B-24 and the B-29 touched down at Dinwiddie/Petersburg around 2:30p.m
this afternoon after circling over Petersburg. The B-29 isn't as sure footed
as the airport's Cessna 172's. Clumbsy ole' warbird slipped off the runway
after turning to back taxi. Then for the next two hours it's crew and
visitors shovelled dirt from under a wheel, hooked three tow trucks to the
landing gear and leap frogged plyboard for several hundred feet getting it
back on the tarmac. On the flight in they ID'd as "Liberator" with the B-24
in the lead and used 123.45 air to air between the two.
