[Scan-DC] Code 100/ 0100

However, based on the Fox News report that I just heard about 5 minutes
ago that the FBI has indicated there is a nationwide alert for possible
Terrorist attacks in eh US "Railway Center" is it that far of a
stretch?

Although I do agree that it is more of a sensitive information issue -
seems coincidental that it is within 24 hours of a terrorist attack
alert.

The Code 100 from the MTP (in the vernacular: "they aren't subway cops,
babe, they 're transit cops) radio and the 0100 code for Montgomery
County are definitely two different things. The person who suggested
that code 100 was to stay out of an area because of terrorist-type
activity was, IMHO, not too logical in the context that the dispatcher
was calling it. If it was "stay out of an area", every transit cop
would have been taking cabs back to the station at shift change. As far
as I could tell, every stretch of the system was called as a code 100 at
some point last night. It makes much more sense that (as someone else
posted) code 100 is "call the dispatcher for some sensitive information"
type thing because the dispatcher was calling these codes by saying
"units on the red line between union station and takoma park, code 100",
then a few minutes later, it was "units on the green line . . ." This
was about the same time that a lookout was being issued for the Chevy
Caprice with NJ tags and some other vehicle. So I be guessing, that is
what all those 25-cent-depositing-calling-on-the-pay-phone
transit cops were hearing last night.
