[Scan-DC] Alexandria firepage

1602 Orchard Street. I didn't need my scanner for this one, as it's right
down the street. Engine 203, Truck 203, Engine 204, Truck 204, et al. The
house, which is about one hundred years old, has a heavy amount of smoke
in the attic. The smoke alarm went off, and all the kids knew just what
to do, heading out to the front yard. Following was a mom and her babe in
arms - literally, as the newborn was born on 9-12-02. The mom didn't even
have to set down her cellphone.

Roofers have been applying a new roof to the place, and the alarm is
possibly related to that. Oooh, second alarm being called right now - box
5326 at 1727. Now Alexandria's Braddock Road will be blocked.

This house is next to the one where there was a multiple-alarm blaze the
week before xmas.
