I've been maintaining the BLIMP FILE for a number of years. Unfortunately, I
haven't had time in the past 3-4 years to update the data. I hope to have it
up to date shortly and in a fixed location where it can be accessed and added
to by monitors.

In the meantime let me provide the following information and thoughts. After
watching the Bud-1 and Horizon Mercy airships over New Jersey for several
years and not hearing anything from them [until this summer over Belmar NJ-
and not being able to retrieve registration info from the blimps I received
this info from a reliable source. All of these blimps and another- the Hood
flying around New England- are owned by a group called TLG- The Lightship
Group based out of Orlando. They are now leasing as many as 20 ships. Reports
have the HOOD chase vehicles with only aircraft antenna showing.

The Fuji Film Blimp is owned by AMS- Airship Management Services. A member of
the ground crew was a bit shaky on the frequency used- but believes that it
is 121.250. All of the ground crew vehicles have both CB and Aircraft
antennas. Waiting to hear if my sources in the Boston area were able to hear
anything on 121.250 to confirm that frequency.

As for the 250.800- this is still a puzzlement. I regularly heard
communications turning up on that frequency while sitting on the beach in
Pompano Beach Florida. I have been told by someone who was on that GY Blimp-
in the cockpit- that there is NO UHF radio on the ship. So what the heck was
I receiving? I had comms using 3 differents radios, with 3 different IF's. It
just so happens that 250.800 is twice the tower frequency of the Pompano AP
[125.400] where the GY Blimp is housed. So there it is.

I hope that this is of interest. I am always looking for new information and
corrections to the data that we have. Please feel free to write to me. As
soon as the file is updated I will advise the group if anyone if interested.
