[Scan-DC] Scanner Aids in Arrest

A case of cooperation by a scanner listener recently resulted in an arrest
in Oregon.  A man in PW County was wanted on a number of warrants and fled
the county (and state) with his 12 year old daughter.  The daughter, for
various reasons, was considered in grave danger.  The situation was
broadcast on the TV Program "Most Wanted".  Sheriff's deputies found a
seemingly abandoned vehicle in a wooded area near Canyonville Oregon.

**  When the began to run the plates, a scanner listener that had watched
"Most Wanted" recognized them, and notified the sheriff's office about the
case.  ***

US Marshals placed the vehicle under surveillance and apprehended the man.
The daughter appeared safe.
