I have not heard it from next door to the USCG Station. Pure unadulterated
speculation - However, it would make a great deal of sense. Commandant USCG
normally does not have a personal security detail (i.e., before 9/11) and is
an Admiral. He sits in the front row with the military chiefs at the 4thof
July. It would also account for the informal chit chat because they may
have been drawn from the USCG Honor Guard vice the professional detail
provided the military chiefs.
