I suspect that it is Infra Red.  I have seen the headsets hanging in the
box office, and they have that big smoke-colored plastic "eye" of IR.  I
also notice devices in the ceiling or high on the wall that look like IR
transmitters.  So, sorry to disappoint you, but my guess is that they
are not scan-able.
