All:

In today's Frederick Post, page A-4, there is an article about the =
opening of the new Frederick County "Law Mall" next month. The Maryland =
State Police recently "decommissioned" Barrack B on Route 40 to move =
into this new place, with the Sheriff's Department. It will be located =
behind the Motor Vehicle Administration near the Jug Bridge.

The interesting thing mentioned in the article is that Frederick =
County Emergency Communications are also moving to the complex from =
their home on Montevue Drive. In addition "Work is progressing to =
upgrade the Emergency Communications Center, which will begin =
dispatching fire and emergency calls on the 800mhz frequency when it =
starts operation in the complex.
=20
Calls will be bradcast on the lower band so volunteers know what's =
going on, said Randy Waesche, ECC Director. New radios are curently =
being installed in Fire and Rescue apparatus, he said.

Communications officers from the state police will be sitting side by =
side with dispatchers from the county at 14 differrent workstations in =
the new communications center.

Each console features its own temperature controls, and each =
dispatcher can program the height of the work stations.
 =20
A new microwave tower will enhance the communications system, which =
has its own generator. The current 911 center on Montevue lane will be =
available as a backup."

As soon as I know the new Trunk ID's, I'll put them out!
