Craig:

I"m replying off list, I live in Frederick and have been listening to
scanners around here since i was a little kid.

OK, I assume you already have the Frederick Fire/Rescue, but here they are
again":
46.340 Dispatch (for some reason, this is channel 2 on the Fire radios)
46.420 Channel 1 (Mostly used as a City Fireground/Tac channel)
46.240 Channel 3: This one is the most heavily used "tac" channel.
46.440: Channel 4: Rarely used, but another Tac channel.
There are also about 4 extender channels, but you really won't need them,
they get alot of skip and tone noise anyway.

If you dont' already have the Frederick County Station list, let me know,
I'll get that out to you as well. There are a couple of new companies that
are out there that aren't on most of the lists around.

Frederick City PD are in fact digital trunk. No one can hear them.

Fort Detrick are on a 400Mhz trunk system, I have that info as well as ID's
if you want it. I work for the DOD Police at Detrick; I can tell you there
isn't alot to listen to. Fort Detrick Fire works off of Frederick County
Fire nets as Company 50.

Frederick County Sheriff's Dept still simulcasts 80 percent of its traffic
on 39.020. They use an 800mhz trunk system for the Tactical channels. Let
me know if you dont' have that one either, and I'll get it out to you, along
with all the ID's.

Maryland State Police B barrack works off of 39.400

MSP Helo uses syscom 44.740 as well as 47.660; there are no trauma centers
in Frederick, and the one in Hagerstown just closed; most medevacs go to
either Shock Trauma or DC.

State Hiway Admin uses 47.120; all other road crews in Frederick County
(including the City crews) work off the County trunk net; as do the Animal
Control officers.

I use Earthlink, and the access is really good. I can't complain. We do
have DSL in Frederick as well as cable, but it will depend on where you are
living.

Outside of Frederick, there is plenty to listen to as well. Carroll County,
towards Baltimore, is trunked, and depending on where you live, you may or
may not be able to listen to them. Its a large system with lots of ID's,
but very, very busy. Again, let me know if you want that one, and its
yours.

To our South, Loudoun County Va just went digital trunk (as far as I know),
but the FD is still simulcasting on 46.380.

To the West, Washington county Fire can be heard on 33.860.

To the Southwest, Jefferson County West Virginia operates on 153.860 (fire)
and 154.875 (police/Sheriff)

Up North, There is Adams County Pa, fire dept operates on 46.180, (dispatch)
46.200/46.260/46.320. PD in Adams is on 45.500, Cumberland Township PD is
on 460.325. Adams/York county EMS dispatches off of 462.975.

York County Pa, north of Baltimore County, can be easily heard on 33.900
(fire dispatch) and York County Regional Police are on 155.415 in the South
End of the County. 33.880 is another York County Fire Dispatch channel.

Federal Gummint wise, you can hear the C&O Canal rangers on 168.300, US Park
Police on 166.925, Gettysburg NPS on 164.725, Antietam and Monocacy NPS on
170.050, and Catoctin Mountain NPS on 171.725.

Finally, Franklin County Pa, to the Northwest, Fire Dispatches on 46.160.

So, that should keep you entertained for awhile!!!

Let me know what else you need, and I'll try to help. If there are any
corrections to this list, I'm sure someone will pitch in with the info!
