   Yes, there is a full time and staffed Luftwaffe facility at DIA.
It is, I believe, essentially a German air force base within the
United States, albeit small, and is also soverign German territory
if I am not mistaken.  It is not the only such German facility in
the United States.  I think there are other, much larger Luftwaffe
facilities(bases) elsewhere.  One in Texas comes to mind that,
unless I'm mistaken, houses some German fighters and bombers.  I do
not believe the DIA facility houses, on a normal basis, similar
fighting aircraft.  I have been told this arrangement is essentially
a quid pro quo related to our bases in Germany.
