Most likely it is one of the 1.9 - 2.1 ghz. "channels". This can be confirmed by sight checking their remote vans. If there
is a small rectangular parabolic reflector approximately 2 ft. x 3 ft. mast mounted that can be extended up to approximately 40
ft., it is probably a 2 ghz. link. One station in Richmond, Virginia, has 4 tower mounted steerable 2 ghz. receive antennas and
peaks and tweaks for the best remote signal. Before a remote broadcast often the tv station engineering will coordinate signal
reception readings to achieve the strongest signal from the remote pickup location. Normally higher microwave frequencies are
used for helicopter air to ground and fixed point to point links. According to an internet item I recently read, the tv stations
are at serious risk of losing several of the 1.9-2.0 ghz. frequencies currently assigned exclusively for broadcast auxillary and
being reassigned by the FCC to other users.
