This evening several A-10s from the 104th FS MD ANG at Martin State conducted 
night ground attack training at the Kiowa MOA Range (Ft. Indiantown Gap PA), 
callsign Balky, on the range freq 237.2 MHz.

Axeman flight was vectored to various targets on the range by an OA-10 FAC 
(Raven). During several of their attack runs Axeman made reference to waiting 
for the "sparkles" or to seeing the "sparkles". On one attack run Axeman 
reported seeing good "sparkles" from both Balky and Raven. I believe they 
were referring to laser-designated targets. There were several references to 
using MK-82s on targets such as bunkers, command posts, etc.
