The week of April 14-April 20 is designated as National Public Safety
Telecommunications Week honoring the telecommunications professionals who
support in providing 9-1-1 emergency assistance to citizens everywhere.
Everyday, expertise and commitment of public safety telecommunications
professionals help save lives acting as the first responder by answering
calls, dispatching emergency professionals and equipment, and providing
moral support to citizens in distress. In many instances, these nameless,
faceless individuals who answer 9-1-1 calls make the difference between life
and death.

On April 15 from 10:00-16:00, Fairfax County's PSCC will hold an open house
to
the public. At 13:00, Colonel Manger (police chief) will be on hand to award
employees for special accomplishments throughout the year.
