Alan, I believe you are correct in saying that it is a
local talkaround use. But as far as monitoring it, I
believe that it is a different freq. that Ch.2. If
anyone wants it, I'll try and track down the freq.
later this week.

For those unfamiliar with PWC FD, Ch. 14 is used for
training at the academy and also for Rural Water
Supply Operations.

I will say that PWC really needs to get their 800
system up. They had two incidents this past Sunday
(house fire in Nokesville and the train derailment)
that tied up both of their alternate channels for a
while. Normally they do not use two alternate
channels for one incident, but I'm sure they would
like to.

I run with Manassas Vol. Fire Comp. and utilize 800
trunk system for dispatch and ops in the city. We
have to use a second mobile radio and portables when
we go in the County. Such a pain in the butt!

Ok, I'll shut up know.

Bob

Channel 14 is the Channel 2 dispatch frequency of
154.325 without Xmit
PL
for local talkaround use.
At least it was when I was a member at Dale City VFD.

Did anybody catch the reference to "channel 14" on the
train derailment
in
Prince William County tonight by the fire department?

Any ideas?
