[Scan-DC] XM Radio

I have had my XM radio since December. I have LOVED every second of it. I
don't spend much time in my car, but i would not give it up. I would not
have a problem paying a few bucks more a month for the service.
In my opinion DC area radio stinks. All the music stations play the same
crap playlist day after day.
XM does have their normal rotation of songs on a few of the stations, but
not nearly the extent commercial radio stations seem to have. Commercials
are much less on the few XM stations that actually do play commercials.
I would say I listen to XM at least 95% of the time I am in the car. The
only reason I listen to local radio is to hear traffic and a few other
programs that XM does not have.
I have enjoyed XM so much, that I have also purchased a unit for my second
car as well as the Sony model for my house.
There is only a few spots where I have lost the signal. Once of those places
is the parking garage and the second is while you go thru one of the
underpasses on 66 near DC. The signal outage is minimal. Travelling the
streets of DC, I have not lost the signal, most likely due to the repeaters.
I have travelled to Georgia in my XM equiped car, and that was great. Did
not have to find the local station that played the type of music that I
wanted to listen to because my XM had it all.
There are a two dislikes I have with XM and it is two of the personalities
that are on the air.
Thats my 2 cents.

I honestly do not have a clue.

Actually I think it is a lame idea charging a sub for radio service IMHO.
I'm sure that satellite delivered radio is well received by some who spend
hours in their cars, but it isn't for me. I won't be buying nor paying any
money to anyone for a pay radio service. The only reason I play for TV now
is because if I didn't out here in no-TV land we won't get anything (nothing
but snow on conventional TV channels). So it is TV delivered via satellite
or nothing and to keep harmony at home out here in the sticks were there are
no malls etc ....
But satellite radio for money, I've draw a line at the satellite dish. ;-)
