All,
Starting in the late 1600 hour (EST) caught some FBI clear voice activity on
167.6625 (PL 167.9).
I was able to hear these guys loud & clear on my BC 895 using just a RS
telescoping antenna and also on both my RS Pro-90 & Alinco X10 handhelds with
their stock antennas.
This is the second time I've heard this freq in clear voice in the last week
or so. Both times the activity took place in the Baltimore City or nearby
Baltimore County area.
Units noted were 1010; 1004; 1005; 1021; 1009 & 1024. They were involved in a
surveillance of two suspects (white males), one of which was identified as
" the source". The suspects were tailed as they left an unidentified shop,
drove to a nearby apartment complex and entered an apartment. After a short
stay in the apartment the suspects were tailed around the neighborhood as
they stopped off at several locations (body shop, auto parts store, pizza
parlor).
The activity took place in the area of Back River Neck Rd, Middleborough Rd,
Eastern Ave & RT 702 (Eastern Balto County). A couple of the units tried to
communicate via their Nextels but commented that they were useless in that
particular area.
After about 15-20 minutes in this area, the source called 1024 on his phone
and advised him that they were headed over to South Wolf St, near Fells Point
(in Balto City) to wrap up the deal. By the time the units made their way to
the Fells Point area they had lost contact with the target vehicle. Unit 1024
had a little trouble finding a location where he was able to call the source
on his phone and learned that he was still enroute to the Fells Point
location.
The source and the target entered a building on Wolf St. The plan was to have
the target cook up the "product" (nfi) for the source in the apartment. Then
the source, by himself, was scheduled to depart the building carrying the
product with him and after calling 1024, proceed to a prearranged meeting
location at 68th St and Pulaski Hwy, in Rosedale. There the source would turn
over the product to the agents who would take it back to their office for
classification.
The activity ended in the mid-1800 EST.
