-> If I had to pay 10 dollars a year for every group that I was on, then =
I
-> wouldn't be on them.
I think that everyone is getting bent out of shape on this one for no =
reason. =20
Al is not asking that everyone pay $10, or that you pay $10 for every =
goup that you belong to. All Al is asking is that if you can (and are =
willing to) help out, then please do so. If you can't, no problem. He =
has not threatened to kick any individual, list or site off of the =
service if you don't pay. That is why it is called a "donation", not a =
fee. There is no need to move the list just because he asked for a =
donation. Those that can, should help out, those that can't, don't worry =
about it.
I can tell you that Al's servers were running at more than 100% of the =
rated bandwidth for the past few months, and he has spent a lot of his =
hard-earned green ($$$) recently paying for an increase in bandwidth. =
We're not talking a few dozen dollars a month for a high speed cable =
connection...he had to pay over $10,000 for the latest T3 upgrade. =
Compared to that, what is $10.=20
I really don't understand the comotion over this one. Is everyone =
really so cheap that they are absolutely refusing to donate? A dime? A =
dollar? 10 dollars? More? What is the big deal. Again, you don't have =
too, so if you can't there is no reason to get bent out of shape over it =
and definitely no need to move the list. =20
