[Scan-DC] FFX County Analog

I wonder if that is what is causing the continuous sporadic
noise I hear on the new FFX system? I hear it on every channel,
analog or digital, anywhere more than 5 miles away from
Merrifield. The weird thing is I *never* hear it on the
old analog repeaters, even when 15 miles away from them
(and they likely have less power to start with). On the
control channel and the digital channels it sounds like
an intermittent "zinging" effect, on the analog transmissions,
it just sounds like distortion. On a scope they look like noise
spikes to the edge of the discriminator bandpass (both ways),
with some distortion of the waveform, as if the transmitter
output was suddenly reduced, or sudden multipath interference.
It's happens on all 20 channels, yet other systems inbetween
(like the old analog systems) don't ever have this characteristic.
I'm still analyzing it to determine if it's a receiver problem
(local interference) or if it's really coming out of the
transmitter that way. If it is, it could be seriously degrading
system performance in marginal areas.
