[Scan-DC] Alexandria TRS sounds noisy

Hi everyone,

    Is it just me, or is the Alexandria City TRS noisy?  I'm about five 
miles away in Annandale and my RadioShack Pro-64 is having difficulty 
recieving all the frequencies including the control channel - there is a lot 
of noise and static more than half of the time.  I tried switching antennas, 
but I heard no improvement.

    I can hear Arlington's TRS and Washington D.C.'s control channels 
without any problem.  My best guess is that some strong signals are 
interfering mixing with the signals from Alexandria.
     Maybe I should buy a scanner that is more sensitive and has better 
dynamic range like the BC-780?
