Thanks for the idea Jim.  I wondered about trying that.  I have seen them working akk sorts of hams around me but nothing back at me.  I;m down below him now, hope it’s not to late.  Been clg him for hours as he has a decent signal here.

Thanks, Larry.  This probably will be my only QSO with them, considering

that they're going to start packing up in about two hours.

 

Here's the secret to making this QSO.  After several unsuccessful days

of calling inside of the pileups, I switched tactics and called these

guys below their operating frequency.  My signal was about 400 Hz below

theirs and relatively in the open.  I hope somebody else can succeed by

following the same method.
