Although I am not a contester I decided to play around in the contest as a
Search and Pounce (SP) operator. I entered as a single op, unassisted, high
power station, although I run only 500W.

I started about an hour late on Friday evening (Sat morning GMT) on 10 meters
and when it closed dropped down to 15.  It turns out these two bands would be
the mainstays.  I did make a few Qs on 20 and 40 and even one on 160, but none
on 80.  Top band isn't exactly a hotbed of SSB activity.  Saturday and Sunday
operating shared time other domestic things so this was far from a concerted
effort.

Nevertheless, as time passed and I made more contacts , I started to set little
goals, if I had 100 Qs I'd try for 150, if I had 50,000 points, I'd try for
100,000. My final goals were 300 contacts and 200,000 points.  About an hour
before the contest ended I hit both and quit.  Unfortunately, after the contest
while totaling my score, I saw that for one contact with CE, I never entered the
suffix. Oops, back to 299 contacts but still over 200K points. I worked 91
countries and 32 zones.
