This week's ARRL Letter mentions the first bridging of the Atlantic by an
amateur station in Europe to the US, in December 1922.  Previous tests had been
one-way from the US to the UK. This was primarily due to the UK power limit.
Special permission was granted to station 5WS to run ~1KW for this adventure.

There is a write-up here:
http://rsgb.org/main/files/2021/08/TT0-article_on_5WS-Wireless-World-Jan-1923.pdf

The RSGB will be running a hundredth year commemorative activity in the month of
December.  Details here: https://rsgb.org/main/activity/transatlantic-tests/tct/

Considering the suffixes of many of the callsigns, I will be especially
interested in working as many of these stations as possible.
