I use my Optibeam 7-3 (seven elements, three bands) on 12 and 17 meter via a 
tuner.  The mismatch is huge, mitigated only by some transmission line loss.  It 
seems to show some modest directivity but no gain.  I have a decent model but 
I've not run it on those bands.  I guess I should do that some day.
