Wes,
Thanks for the update. I was disappointed but I cleared my alarm from
geting me up at 1:00AM tomorrow.
You are right that few of us are actively interested in the very very low
frequencies based on the reports from their last test a few months ago,
there were only two of us locals that turned in a report, Darrel and I.
But I know of at least two others in the area who play on the DC bands.
It is worth nothing that the transmission was canceled because of covid. It
is still around. They are taking the cautious approach with a few of their
volunteers testing positive. It is still poking up its ugly head. I fear
it will be a part of our life for a very long time, unfortunately.
SAQ is in Sweden. it is a 17 KHz very powerful transmitter that generates
RF with a rotating media (a big ass generator). It was one of the first
coherent sine wave rf generators back in the spark days. It is worth
reading about the "Alaxander generator" Good stuff for all DXer to read
about.
Thanks again, Wes, for the update.
73 and happy holidays to everyone
Ron K7RJ
