Those of you listening to 40 this afternoon should have checked the higher
bands. I turned on the rig about 3 local to 10 meters. In an an hour I
worked 9 different countries (no new ones, unfortunately) When the band
started fading I dropped down to 12 but it promptly closed. 15 was still
on but the grayline was favoring Japan, called a couple of VK's but no
luck. Did work an Asiatic Russian I hadn't worked before, then got the
supper call. Friday I was checking my gear before going out to Picacho
Peak and got a memo that Gridtracker has a new update. Gridtracker
doesn't store (at least where I knew to look) so I couldn't use Gridtracker
and QRZ wasn't communicating nicely with JT8. Got Gridtracker
reformatted this afternoon and it was neat to watch the Grayline progress
over the course of the next hour. I can count on propagation into SA
every afternoon. Worked a new to me Uruguay station, saw 2 new Argentina
stations and based on their grid squares there were 3 Brazilians who
could have worked each other on 2 meters I was going to print the last
page on my QRZ log to show all the different flags but I don't have a
screen capture app that will work. Print Screen did print my last 100
contacts in the log---all in December; it doesn't include my 25 or so
contacts yesterday out at Picacho Peak. Hope I can find them somewhere.
