[SADXA] Last nights East side Storm

I didn't actually lose my antenna, but did have some minor damage. We
had hail stones which broke the bulbs of our outdoor floodlights. We had
an inch of rain in less than one hour. My little weather station
recorded winds over 71 km/h (44 mph) and increasing, but then the power
to our house went off. The weather station sends its data over the
Internet connection which went out when the power went out, so I don't
know how high a speed the wind eventually reached. Our power remained
off for 6 hours.
The copper wire of my rhombic antenna beam is still unbroken, but
ended up tangled in the top of a 30-ft tree that's about 30 feet away
from under the antenna. I don't understand how it got there. One of
the guy ropes to one of the poles holding up the antenna also broke, but
it's a redundant guy rope so shouldn't have caused the other problems.
Apparently several electric power poles were down in and around Tucson,
causing the power outages. I don't feel so bad about my own antenna
problems, if the power company can't keep their lines in the air either.
Cheers,
Darrel, aa7fv, on Soldier Trail by the Agua Caliente wash.
