Wes, thanks again for making that motion. And we will be making a $500 dollar donation to the DXpedition. I met with Mike Casey this afternoon and we discussed direct donation to the DXpedition group so we could get the proper credit. We had in the past made donation directly to the Cal DX group as they are quite selective about screaming those who should get funded. But the Bouvet group are solid DXers and I know they will do a good job and use the funds appropriately.

Subject: [SADXA] 3Y0J Donation
As I proposed the $500 donation to the 3Y0J DXpedition at Thursday's club Zoom meeting I did say that we might have discussion over the amount. I expected some and wasn't proposing to railroad this through. I am a firm believer is supporting deserving expeditions and in fact have made a generous personal donation already. That said, I think the membership should have final say so and I'm not sure that was achieved at the meeting. Maybe I'm wrong and we are good to go. If were are FB.
Regardless, upon reflection, when we make the donation I think we should do it as SADXA directly to the expedition and NOT through NCDXF. NCDXF has already donated $100K (some of that our prior donation) and I doubt they will up it by our new donation and/or give us mention for it. Our direct donation would get our logo on the expedition website and gives us deserved recognition. The downside is it opens us up for requests from future beggars but we can deal with them when the time comes.
What say?
