[SADXA] Last minute info about Thursday's SADXA meeting

As you know, Ned Stearns, AA7A had been lined up this month to give a presentation on changes to their super station.  Unfortunately, Ned’s wife passed away over the weekend.  On behalf of SADXA I sent Ned a condolence message and told him I hoped there would be a more appropriate time for him to make his presentation to the club later this year sometime.

 

I am very pleased to inform you that my old friend, Lynn Bisha, W2BSN, on really short notice has agreed to be our Zoom presenter this coming Thursday.  Lynn’s program will be on the “History of the transistor”.  It is geared toward the evolutional use of the transistor in amateur radio accessories and equipment.  

 

Lynn is uniquely qualified to give us this presentation as he is the curator of the Antique Wireless Association’s (AWA) museum which is located in Western New York State. If you have never visited the AWA Museum, it is well worth your time to visit it if you are traveling through New York State.

 

As usual, we will open the Zoom doors at 6:30 PM, Tucson time.  Our program will start on or about 7 PM.  (That will be 9 PM for my friend Lynn in Rochester, New York).

 

If you know of any hams or others who might like to hear this presentation, please feel free to send them the meeting invitation information.  I will also be inviting any Radio Society of Tucson (RST) members who may be interested to join us for this meeting.

 

Agenda items to discuss are:

 

1. The start of “in person” meeting perhaps as soon as May.

2. A SADXA donation to planned Bouvet Island DXpedition.
